Projects

Here are items on which we are currently working!

As with any community, there are problems that need to be resolved. Here is a list of those that are currently being discussed.

Working with Fresno County Tourism to get recognition for Eastern Fresno County attractions and outdoor activities.

Receive an equal partnership with Fresno Convention and Visitors Bureau's booklet, entitled Fresno County Tourism, which does not properly represent the Eastern Fresno County region.

Solicity new businesses in the region, preferrably gift shops, antique shops, and other ventures that will provide interests to those visiting the region.

Trash and litter are among the most common concerns in this region. We are currently working with Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig and Mid Valley Waste in finding potential solutions to this concern.

We are in talks with Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig to see if additional parking locations can be developed, specifically within the community of Shaver Lake.

A Shaver Lake Recreational Trail project is being led by Marie Edwards to have a safe path from Ockenden through the Shaver Lake Village and on to Camp Edison. This would take unsafe foot traffic off Highway 168.

A committee is working on inviting organizations to put on events throughout the year that will benefit residents and visitors alike.

All these efforts take time and money. Member dues go to fund activities designed to enhance the quality of life and a better return for investors.
